Yelena of the Silkwood was a highly unusual individual, possessed of High Elf ancestry on her father's side and Woof Elf on her mother's, She is often said to be the closest that the Silkwood ever came to having a lady, for though she killed spiders as a Silk Strider, she also took part in aristocratic gatherings to represent her people. Her beauty and dark complexion won her the interest of Gawain Blackthorne, and they were married for a time before his death. She had a son with him, the ill-fated Agravain, and though she stood by his side until he was an adult she withdrew from Blackthorne matters before the beginning of their First Civil War. The death of the man she had loved and the son she'd given him left a mark on her, and she never remarried. However, she also avoided the numerous assassination attempts on her by Jarvis Blackthorne, much to his frustration. Yelena eventually met her apparent end centuries later when she was taken by a spider queen while on an expedition.
